Even more than the other Idealists,Teachers have a natural talent for leading students or trainees toward learning, or as Idealists like to think of it, they are capable of calling forth each learner's potentials. Teachers (around two percent of the population) are able - effortlessly, it seems, and almost endlessly-to dream up fascinating learning activities for their students to engage in. In some Teachers, this ability to fire the imagination can amount to a kind of genius which other types find hard to emulate. But perhaps their greatest strength lies in their belief in their students. Teachers look for the best in their students, and communicate clearly that each one has untold potential, and this confidence can inspire their students to grow and develop more than they ever thought possible.

In whatever field they choose, Teachers consider people their highest priority, and they instinctively communicate personal concern and a willingness to become involved. Warmly outgoing, and perhaps the most expressive of all the types, Teachers are remarkably good with language, especially when communicating in speech, face to face. And they do not hesitate to speak out and let their feelings be known. Bubbling with enthusiasm, Teachers will voice their passions with dramatic flourish, and can, with practice, become charismatic public speakers. This verbal ability gives Teachers a good deal of influence in groups, and they are often asked to take a leadership role.

Teachers like things settled and organized, and will schedule their work hours and social engagements well ahead of time -- and they are absolutely trustworthy in honoring these commitments. Valuing as they do interpersonal cooperation and harmonious relations, Teachers are extraordinarily tolerant of others, are easy to get along with, and are usually popular wherever they are.

Teachers are highly sensitive to others, which is to say their intuition tends to be well developed. Certainly their insight into themselves and others is unparalleled. Without a doubt, they know what is going on inside themselves, and they can read other people with uncanny accuracy. Teachers also identify with others quite easily, and will actually find themselves picking up the characteristics, emotions, and beliefs of those around them. Because they slip almost unconsciously into other people's skin in this way, Teachers feel closely connected with those around them, and thus show a sincere interest in the joys and problems of their employees, colleagues, students, clients, and loved ones.

Me: which would be gr8 except we are new
Listener: new what?
Me: and his family are violent towards each other
Me: wen they get drunk
Me: every friday
Me: i come from a violent back ground so this upsets me ALOT
Me: i cant watch it
Me: that mixed with him having angry mood swings because of diabetes and low blood sugar
Listener: I understand that. My mother is a sociopath, and would beat me every other night. so seeing violance can be upsetting
Me: means that when i said yes to living there im nw not so sure
Listener: this, as with everything in life is an equation
Me: then u know i cant watch it
Me: indeed
Listener: I know that you can watch it, but you don't want to
Listener: because you're not fully over it yourself. and watching it brings it back out of your subconscious
Me: yes
Me: i was in aball crying for hours
Me: last time i saw a mum get dragged across the floor it was mine and i was young
Listener: ooh, that's rough
Me: in the morning the whole family just acted like nothing happened

Listener: in my house too. I raised my sister since I was 8, my dad was home about once a month. And my mother seldom got out of bed except to take her anger out on me. But in society, she was a model citizen. She was brutal, but smart
Me: that must have been hard to deal with
Me: its nice to be older isnt it, u dnt have to let any one treat u like that again
Listener: yes it was, but I wouldn't change it if I could
Me: no it makes us who we are
Listener: exactly
Me: but do i take it now
Listener: depends, I see this equation being solved one of two ways
Listener: the short-term happiness or long-term happiness way
Me: people keep saying i could give it a go and then move out if i cnt take it
Me: but i think that would cause more damage
Listener: you can take short-term and not live with your boyfriend and the violence in his family. So you can further repress your emotions dealing with the subject of domestic violence
Me: as my boyfriend is already making plans to have me in his room
Me: or
Listener: or you can take the long-term and live with your boyfriend, deal with the violence, let your past memories surface. Deal with them, learn from them, and accept them, so you can grow and move on
Me: i c the long term being the same unless i get councelling
Me: hrm
Listener: I have a parable if you want to hear it
Me: yea
Listener: this may take a minute or two
Me: k il be rite back
Me: bk
Listener: there was a young man who lived out in the country-side. He lived a quiet life. He had his farm and his livestock. However, fate so had it that the weather was so horrendous that it rendered his land unuseable. The man knew that he could no longer be a farmer, for he did not have enough money to buy a new plot of land. The farmer was a brilliant musician though. The farmer knew of a city a long ways off, and set out to find it. He headed east, (direction of city). He walked east for a day until he came to a tunnel. The tunnel clearly stated that the city was just on the other side. So the man took one final gaze back at his ruined farm land and plunged into the tunnel. The tunnel was old and run-down. There were no lights, no pest control. In fact it looked like it hadn't been used in ages. Every now and then the farmer happened upon another traveller going to the city. He was pleasant, but curt. Making sure to keep good time. Somewhere in the tunnel, towards the middle, the man tripped over a root. He fell face first and couldn't get up, he had sprained his ankle pretty bad. He looked left and right, and saw no light. So he stayed put. Curled in a ball in the tunnel. He stayed there so long that he knew the rodents that crawled across him, knew the different weeds growing around him. This tunnel had become his home. His ankle had gotten better, but he was so used to the tunnel, that he had no desire to go anywhere else. So he remained in the tunnel. And as he did so, other travellers would come across him and offer him a hand up, the farmer declined every offer. Until one day, the farmer had eaten a plant he shouldn't have. He got sick and started to retch on the tunnel floor. He was rather lucky though. Another traveller came by. He offered the farmer refused. He said he wished to die in his home. The traveller looked at the farmer astounded, he couldn't believe the farmer called this home. He gave the farmer what little medicine he had and helped him to his feet. The farmer was very grateful to the man but still was leery of leaving his home. The young man assured the farmer that there was nothing to worry about and they would arrive at a better place. The farmer hesitantly agreed to go with the man. So they continued down the tunnel. The journey was long and arduous, and the farmer wanted nothing more than to return to his spot in the tunnel, where he called home. The man urged him further. And so the farmer went further. He started to see a light at the end of the tunnel. He turned to exlaim to the man the bright light. But the man was gone. The farmer was now alone. The farmer plopped down and wept. He was so close. The farmer took one more look at the light, and got up. He trudged the last mile of the tunnel and came out the other side. He was in the city he dreamed of long ago. The farmer, with his dreams of playing music renewed, continued into the city. Where he did find work as a musician and he eventually, raised a family. When the farmer had amassed a decent sum of money, he set out to search the city, in hopes of finding the man who helped him get to the city in the first place. The farmer wanted to thank him and repay him for all his kindness. The farmer never found the man. At least, not until the last day of his life. The farmer lived a good life, but was very old. He eventually died, and as he left his body, he took one last look at it, and saw, not the farmer, but the young traveller.
Me: the moral of the story is help yourself?
Me: i like it though
Me: im just trying to decode it
Listener: it's multi-faceted
Listener: yes, you are the only person who can help yourself
Me: indeed the more you think ther more there is
Listener: but to get to where he wanted to go, the farmer had to go through a very dark, drab, tunnel
Me: yea, im in the process of trying to help myslef
Me: then i need to figure out where i want to go
Listener: and you have to understand that to get there, you may have to go through a tunnel. One possibly much more bleak than the one the farmer went through. And however easy it is to get stuck, remember where you're going
Me: sound advice
Me: thank you
Listener: you're quite welcome
Me: :) quitters arnt winners
Me: i always say that
Listener: who said there was a winner or a loser to begin with?
Me: well depends on what winning means
Listener: exactly, winning is what you make it out to be. It is subjective. There is no winning or losing. You can't have a set goal because the game changes moment to moment. You can only live in the now. That's all there ever was, all there is, and all there will be. The now.
Listener: there is just cause and effect, action and reaction, moves and counter-moves.
Me: theres no end?
Listener: no, no start either. Everything is an equation. And the goal is to balance these equations. But the variables change all the time. One needs to be aware of the changes, accept them and re-balance the equation. For there can be no light without dark, no good without bad, no health without disease, etc.
Me: tis an ominous view to life
Listener: but, being as there are no goals, it's all a lie. There is no solution greater than another. We are such finite creatures, that all we can ever hope to do, is simply exist. And by existing we are balancing
Me: i c that there are many routs to be taken, choose the ones you want, then that is life
Listener: one could say that. Yes, there are infinite amounts of possibilities. Some with a higher probability than others. But there is no start or end, so all these possibilities are in fact happening right now. You only see the ones you choose to see
Listener: People have an astounding ability that was understood in ancient times then lost. Only to be rediscovered through quantum physics. We are living the life we want to live. We create our own realities, every one of us. I am not living in the same world you are. I have my own reality, one I created with truths as I see them, and only I can change it.
Me: yes i understand this
Me: every one has their own percetion built from their own unique set of experiences
Me: OH
Me: i have to go
Me: it was nice talking to you
Listener: okay
Listener: you too
Me: hope life gos well
